BG Remover is a Chrome extension that removes backgrounds from user-selected images. It provides local offline processing and an optional cloud-processing mode.

In Offline Mode, background removal is performed locally in your browser using the AI model bundled with the extension. The selected image is not intentionally sent to a remote image-processing service by BG Remover for this operation.
Cloud Mode is optional. If you enable it and configure a supported provider, the image you select is sent to the provider you choose so that the provider can perform background removal.
Depending on your configuration, BG Remover may communicate with remove.bg or Clipdrop. Those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies. You should review the applicable provider's policies before using Cloud Mode.
Information handled by BG Remover is used only to provide the extension's background-removal functionality, maintain your settings, and perform cloud processing when you explicitly choose Cloud Mode.
BG Remover does not use image data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness decisions, or unrelated purposes.
Extension settings and configured API keys are stored locally using Chrome extension storage. BG Remover does not operate its own server or database for storing your images.
Images processed through Cloud Mode are transmitted to the provider selected by you. Any retention, processing, or deletion by that provider is governed by the provider's own policies and service terms.
BG Remover does not sell user data. It does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes. When you explicitly use Cloud Mode, your selected image is transmitted to the configured image-processing provider solely to provide the requested background-removal functionality.
BG Remover is designed to minimize unnecessary data handling. Offline processing keeps the image-processing operation in the browser. Cloud Mode requires an explicit user choice and a configured provider/API key.
BG Remover is a general-purpose browser extension and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
